Narsampet is a historical place. Before Independence the administrative unit of Narsampet was officially known as Pakhal Taluka- the Pakhal lake, largest lake in the region built by the Kakatiya rulers. Narsampet Municipality. Recently Telangana Government declared neighbouring Dwarakapet and Sarvapuram villages are merged into Narsampet Municipality.The town has 28 wards and 50 colonies.
